Dr. Kennedy is licensed as a doctor of biblical counseling and is currently finishing his dissertation for a doctorate in psychology. His spiritual and psychological counseling program compliments the integrative medicine program at the Oasis of Hope. In 1998, Dr. Kennedy founded the Worldwide Cancer Prayer Day shortly after his father was healed of cancer. With the cooperation of ministries such as the Crystal Cathedral and Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, this prayer day has extended to 100 countries and will be observed for the eighth year in a row on June 5, 2005. Dr. Kennedy has had the privilege of writing and co-writing a number of books and speaking abroad in the United Kingdom, Mexico, and the numerous cities in the United States. As a part of his personal mission to help others, he heads a multimedia team that utilizes music, drama, and dance to help youth decide for a tobacco, alcohol, and drug free life. >> BackgroundDr. Kennedy is licensed in the state of California as a Doctor of Biblical Counseling. He is working on his Dr. Kennedy is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Work, and is certified as a Christian Marriage and Family Therapist by the American Society of Christian Therapists. In addition, he is currently enrolled in a Master of Family Therapy program. Working in the medical field with cancer patients is challenging due to the many different needs presented by patients and their loved ones. Dr. Kennedy’s commitment to his patients is reflected by his commitment to continuous education.

Since 1993, Daniel E. Kennedy has lead the Oasis of Hope Hospital in its mission to improve the physical, emotional and spiritual lives of people around the world. He has worked for the last twelve years with Dr. Francisco Contreras counseling cancer patients and their loved ones.
